Design Challenge
This leather minibike bag is designed to replace current storage solutions that fell short in security and functionality. Unlike the existing option, which is unstable and poorly organized, the new design securely attaches to the frame. It offers dedicated compartments for tools, extra fuel, and general storage. The durable construction ensures reliability with every ride, while the design maximizes convenience for the rider.

Concept Sketches
The challenge was determining how to attach the storage pieces to the central bag while ensuring it could support the weight of supplies. It must do this without swaying or tipping while riding. To address this, a 3D-printed insert was added to the central bag for stability.

Construction Process
Once the leather has dried, it can be removed from the mold and the excessed is trimmed.
2) Removing & Trimming

1) Mold Making
I created the molds to shape the leather using 3D printing and wooden frames.

3) Dyeing
Using a layered painting method with multiple dyes gives the leather a grunge look.
Attaching the straps first allows the stitches to be hidden later with a lining.
4) Sewing Straps

5) Sewing Components
Finishing up sewing all four pieces before the final assembly.
Concluding with burnishing edges and placing tools into their slots.
